Alarm and monitoring system on the Glomar Worker was one of main systems existed from the beginning at this vessel and required renovation.
Elektro Plus took on creation of new, modern redundant alarm system for the next years safety operation.
Main stages of the project:
- analysis of the existing system based on electrical schematic and photographic documentation,
- creating an initial project of the system and discussion with ships owner about his expectations,
- creating an electrical schematic of new system and technical drawing of its components in destination place,
- programming every logic device and test of operation of created system at our workshop,
- removing old system and adaptation of our devices at the vessel. Then test of operation of new system by forcing every single alarm and analogue value. Test of system operation in case of various different faults and errors,
- carrying out final acceptance test with Rina and representative of the shipowner.
A few words about operation of new alarm and monitoring system: if any device connected to the system activate its alarm contact the alarm system logic will force visual and audible alarm. What’s more the event will be note in the alarm log and save in portable memory. On the operation panels in the engine control room and on wheelhouse is possibility to observe analogue values of parameters of the main engines. Because of redundancy of the system if we lose one of main components as PLC or Moxa switch it is effecting by lose of monitoring just part of alarm system and other part is fully operational. Last but not least, as you know, high safety standards of engine room operation forced existing of “dead man” monitoring system and you can find this too in our solution.
Created with passion and commitment system is our business card. We believe that our costumers can feel comfortable and safe because of components we created for their.
